COVID-19 safe work practices

As licensed venues continue to operate under COVID-19 restrictions, it’s important that licensees and staff comply with all Chief Health Officer directions and follow six principles to keep their workplace COVIDSafe.

These principles include QR codes, signage, physical distancing, relevant density quotients, face mask requirements and creating workforce bubbles where possible.

Licensees should also remember to:

  • update and review COVIDSafe Plans as restrictions or public health advice changes (templates for COVIDSafe plans are available)
  • display the correct signs in relation to patron limits at all points of the venue as stated in the current CHO directions, and check for new signs as density limits change
  • wear masks. All staff are required to wear a mask unless an exemption applies, and patrons must wear a mask unless they are eating or drinking
  • proactively encourage customers to check-in via the free Victorian Government QR Code Service which must be used by all businesses.

The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions are offering free, independent reviews of business COVIDSafe Plans to ensure they reflect the current settings. Simply email your business name and contact details to book your review.
