You need an RSA Certificate to legally work in any establishment that serves or sells alcohol. The certificate ensures that you are knowledgeable about the laws and practices around the responsible service of alcohol, which helps in promoting a safer drinking environment.
To obtain an RSA Certificate, you need to complete an accredited RSA training course. These courses are available both online and in-person. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive your RSA Certificate.
RSA certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of issue. The RSA certificate does not provide an expiry date so please make a note to yourself to remember to renew your RSA certificates 3 years after the date of issue. If you miss the renewal period or your certificate lapses, you can complete the initial RSA course again.
LCV RSA certificates are usually issued the same day that you are assessed as competent in your VIC RSA course. The LCV RSA certificate is emailed to the learner, in PDF form. Learners should check their inbox, spam and junk folders to find the email with LCV RSA certificate attached.
