Provide Responsible service of alcohol (RSA) training and certification

Behind the bar RSA training videos

In Queensland, RSA certification is a must-have for all staff working in licensed premises who serve or supply alcohol. Whether you’re crafting cocktails behind the bar, taking orders on the floor, or providing room service, RSA certification is your ticket to ensuring a safe and enjoyable drinking experience for patrons.

For those stepping into the realm of licensed premises, RSA training is a priority within the first 30 days of employment. This includes not only the licensee but also all staff members involved in alcohol service, from seasoned bartenders to enthusiastic floor staff. However, if you hold a current Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) certificate issued by the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR), you’re exempt from RSA certification requirements—a testament to your expertise in venue management.

Now, let’s demystify the RSA certification process. You’ll need to complete the nationally accredited Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol course, delivered exclusively by registered training organisations (RTOs). The current course code, SITHFAB021, ensures you’re equipped with the latest knowledge and skills to excel in your role. Don’t fret if you completed an older version of the course; as long as you hold a valid Statement of Attainment, your certification remains valid, regardless of the course code changes over the years.

Speaking of validity, once you’ve obtained your RSA Statement of Attainment, it’s yours to keep. Unlike a fine wine, your RSA qualification doesn’t have an expiry date if you completed the course after 2002. So, whether you’re serving up drinks in 2022 or beyond, rest assured that your RSA certification stands the test of time, ensuring you’re always ready to uphold the highest standards of responsible alcohol service.

RSA training and certification in Queensland are not just legal requirements—they’re essential tools for ensuring the safety and well-being of patrons and the integrity of licensed premises. By embracing RSA principles, you’re not just serving drinks; you’re shaping memorable experiences and contributing to a culture of responsible alcohol consumption.

So, raise your glass to unlocking the keys to responsible alcohol service in Queensland—cheers to a brighter, safer, and more enjoyable hospitality future!

Real Stories from our

RSA VIC

"I am extremely satisfied with the courses I’ve completed and will absolutely recommend your services to others. If you're looking for a top-tier training provider, I can't recommend CFT enough!"

"Recently, I needed to complete a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course, and CFT International was recommended by a friend.

After doing some research, I discovered that CFT is registered with the Australian Skills Quality Authority, which gave me confidence to proceed—and I'm so glad I did!

My experience with CFT has been outstanding! In fact, I was so impressed that I returned to their site to complete another certificate course.

Each course was well-structured, professional, and incredibly relevant. The presentation wasn’t just dry theory; it was brought to life with workplace scenarios through videos and photos.

This made it feel like I was right there in the classroom or workplace, which really helped drive the points home. Watching these videos gave me a clear understanding of what’s expected in various real-world situations.

One feature I particularly appreciated was that I couldn’t progress to the next level unless I fully understood the current one. This allowed me to take thorough notes and revisit areas I wasn’t completely confident in before moving on to the final assessments. It made the learning experience much more comprehensive and ensured I retained the information.

On top of that, their customer service is top-notch. I had to call once to clarify a point, and the help I received was excellent—special thanks to Carmel for her patience and guidance.

Thank you, CFT!"
